PMGA has chosen to cover a wide range of power and speed in order to bring solutions to a maximum of customers.
Rated output ranging from 200 kVA up to 2000 kVA.
Power of generator is adapted to each Hydro Power Plant depending of water flow and net head.
PMGA generators are directly connected to the grid, without intermediate element, in order to maximize the global efficiency of the system. The rotation speed of the generator (synchronous speed) is chosen according to the rotation speed of the existing turbine.
Rotation speed covers the range from 60 to 250 rpm.
Possible synchronous speeds are the following :
60, 63, 65, 68, 71, 75, 79, 83, 88, 94, 100, 107, 115, 125, 136, 150, 167, 187, 214 & 250 rpm
Implementation
PMGA generator are placed in the end of turbine shaft.
In the most usual configuration, Pmga generator is installed in place of an existing gearbox. PMGA deals with the interface management in order to simply the installation of the generator (base plate, turbine shaft, blade control system).

Optimization

Efficiency
no more losses due to intermediate components : they have been removed. The global efficiency of the system is optimized. These efficiency gains bring additional production during the whole service life of the generator. When the permanent magnet generator replaces an asynchronous generator, efficiency is better, especially for the low loads.
Noise pollution
gearbox and high-speed asynchronous generator are very noisy. Our products can bring a solution to noise neighbourhood problem.
Service life
rotation speed of all mechanical components is low and bring to a moderate wear. The result is less required maintenance.
Ecology
removal of gearbox system avoid use of oil and grease in big quantity. This is an advantage especially in an aquatic environment.
